Germplasm Info
Genus: Thlaspi Species: arvense
Seed type: Ecotype
Growth requirement: Germination is highly variable between accessions and between populations. The best treatment is a 10-12 days stratification at 4°C in dark, use of GA3 also work for some accessions. No particular growing conditions are required. For 14 days, use 20°C day, 17°C night and 45% humidity. Very susceptible to aphid and mildew attacks. Spray with fungicides as soon as the first white mildew spot appears on the top of the leaves. About 1/3 of the lines require a ~16 days vernalization at 4°C, applied 2 weeks after germination.
